How to use:

Use it after cleansing and conditioning your hair. (Do not towel dry after your final rinse.)

Apply As I Am® Leave-in liberally, according to directions. This will help prevent flaking once the hair is dry.
Apply Twist Defining Cream to detangled hair while damp, in small sections from root to tip. Spray with water if hair begins to dry before finishing.
We recommend that you let your hair air dry. You can use a drying cap on low heat if you can't wait or the weather conditions don't allow it.
Undo the twists, separate them to have twists out, when the hair is completely dry.
For added hydration, apply Moisture Milk or DoubleButter® Cream to hair, daily or as needed.

You can apply the Twists Definition Cream for the “shingling” technique: comb through clean, untangled and wet hair in sections with a separate-toothed comb. Dry your hair well before defining your curls.

Advice:

• For the tightest twists with maximum definition, twist hair while soaked.
• For more fullness and length, twist hair while wet.
• Apply the product generously. The wetter the hair, the more Twist Cream you can use.
• Twist each section, leaving about ½ – ¾ cm untwisted at the ends. Twist this portion around your index finger and carefully slide your finger down and out of the curl.
• As you twist, arrange the twists in the places and directions you ultimately want them to be placed in your finished style. For example, if you want your style to be straight back, away from your face, showing off your hairline, be sure to twist your sections back and away from your face.
• If you plan to twist your hair as soon as it is dry, you do not have to be very careful about neat and precise partitions. In fact, it's probably best if you don't want your scalp exposed when you're done styling.
• Twisting will minimize scalp exposure with twisted styles. Once the hair is completely dry, you can also gently massage the scalp to hide the splits. Take care not to disturb the twisted or coiled alignment along the length and ends of the sections.
• To complete your style. If you choose to part your curls for more volume, be careful to handle them very gently. Careless pulling and parting will cause the strands to separate and take on an undefined, frizzy look.
• Remember: the more you manipulate your twists, the fuller your hair will be, so part or fluff your fingers where you want volume or height. Put just a little or none where you want near the flattest areas. Once the hair has been fluffed, it will not return to the original flattened alignment until you re-wet and restyle it.
• In the days after you've twisted with Twist Defining Cream, you can use As I Am® Moisture Milk, DoubleButter® Cream or CocoShea Spray for softness, moisture and shine.
• Don't be afraid of water. Now he's your friend! If a section looks a bit frizzy at the ends, moisten your index finger and wrap the ends around your finger to create a spiral. Notice how her beautiful curls fall back into line. Now, let it dry, without touching it while it is wet.
• With twisted styles, it can sometimes feel like one or two sections need attention. Simply moisten your fingers, run them through the section with some Twist Defining Cream, and twist again. It will be dry in 15-20 minutes or so. Once dry, unscrew it and voila! – a quick update!
• Finally, always secure your hair under a satin bonnet when sleeping. It will eliminate abrasion damage and keep your style longer.
