How to use:

• First, clean the hair. (We recommend one of the three As I Am cleansers: As I Am® Curl Clarity® Shampoo, Cleansing Pudding+ or Coconut CoWash.)
• Leave hair wet or very damp. DO NOT TOWEL DRY.
• Massage a small amount (approximately a quarter) into the palms of your hands and distribute generously throughout hair from roots to ends.
• Using a wide-toothed comb or flexible-bristled detangling brush, gently begin combing or brushing, section by section, in short strokes. Always start near the ends and work towards the scalp. It can also be gently unraveled with your fingers.
• If it seems that you need more product to facilitate detangling, Distribute another very small amount. Don't use it too much.
• Proceed to finishing.

Advice:

One of the best tips for detangling naturally textured hair is to comb while the lather from the shampoo, CoWash Conditioner, or Rinse Conditioner is still on the hair, using a wide tooth comb.

Sometimes they find it difficult to remove all the tangles and knots from their hair after washing. Other times you want to just cleanse, rinse, condition, and then detangle without taking any steps in between. In such cases, As I Am® Detangling Conditioner is a great way to release your tangles.

Smooth and distribute throughout wet or very damp hair. Work with a very small amount to start. Too much can cover your hair too much. But don't worry... If after detangling, you feel like there's too much left in your hair, a very light rinse will correct the situation. And if you prefer to use your favorite Leave In, you can rinse the detangling conditioner even further. Next, apply the Leave-In of your choice before proceeding to apply styling products. (i.e. creams, gels, etc.).
